Knee Innovations – Cutting-edge comprehensive care.
I specialize in ACL repair and reconstruction using the latest minimally invasive, all-inside techniques—often called th/e "Sexy ACL" approach for its small incisions, strong fixation, and focus on faster recovery. This is important in that ACL tears commonly occur in adolescent women playing soccer where incisions do matter. I also perform meniscus repairs, and when necessary, meniscus transplantation to restore more normal joint anatomy and protect the knee long term. If you have had your meniscus removed and are having symptoms, you may be a candidate for meniscal transplantation. Most surgeons do not offer this procedure because of its complexity, but I have successfully performed dozens of transplants and have patients with over 15 years of pain relief and improved function. In addition, I perform femur (thigh bone) and tibia (shin bone) osteotomy surgery to correct alignment—helping straighten knock-kneed or bow-legged legs—along with cartilage transplantation procedures, especially in the patellofemoral joint (kneecap and groove), to restore smooth joint surfaces and improve comfort and performance so you can return confidently to the activities you love.
Knee Anatomy
The knee is a complex joint made up of different structures - bones, tendons, ligaments, and muscles. They all work together to maintain the knee’s normal function and provide stability to the knee during movement. Having a well-functioning healthy knee is essential for our mobility and ability to participate in various activities. Understanding the anatomy of the knee enhances your ability to discuss and choose the right treatment procedure for knee problems with your doctor.
